Last year the Royal family traveled 137,000 miles on 18 scheduled flights and had spend over £193,000 chartering aircraft because the RAF planes had either broken down or not available.
So as part of the plans to cut the Royal family's ever-increasing travel costs, the Queen Elizabeth II will soon have her own £3 million private plane, which would be used only by the Queen and other royals.
Currently, the royal family uses two planes from 32 Squadron at RAF Northolt but they are more than 20 years old and are deemed too unreliable.
By March next year, the Queen is taking delivery of a new Sikorsky chopper, a six-seater helicopter which will be leased for £500,000 a year, which is also scheduled to arrive next month.
