Queen Elizabeth II £3 Million Private Jet

Queen Elizabeth private jetLast year the Royal family traveled 137,000 miles on 18 scheduled flights and had spend over £193,000 chartering aircraft because the RAF planes had either broken down or not available.

So as part of the plans to cut the Royal family's ever-increasing travel costs, the Queen Elizabeth II will soon have her own £3 million private plane, which would be used only by the Queen and other royals.

Currently, the royal family uses two planes from 32 Squadron at RAF Northolt but they are more than 20 years old and are deemed too unreliable.

By March next year, the Queen is taking delivery of a new Sikorsky chopper, a six-seater helicopter which will be leased for £500,000 a year, which is also scheduled to arrive next month.

BMW Group DesignworksUSA & Dassault Aviation Launches New Interior Concept for the Falcon 7X Business Jet

business jetBMW Group DesignworksUSA collaborates with Dassault Aviation for the interior cabin of the new Falcon 7X business jet.

Debuting at EBACE 2009, in Geneva, the new Falcon 7X cabin introduces subtle curves throughout the interior. A single arc carpet element visually stretches the cabin and connects the interior front to back. Curved bulkheads visually expand the main cabin volume while subtle curves in the galley and main cabin create better flow. Cabin lighting techniques feature up-wash and down-wash ambient lights as well as light strips. The combination of new lighting and more contrast between the carpet, the side walls and headliners emphasize openness, spaciousness and comfort. The final result is elegant and styled cabin fused with function.

The design combines a modern, non-ornamental appeal with timeless aspects of quality in the attention to detail and craftsmanship, the press release read:
“We have been very pleased with our decision to collaborate with DesignworksUSA,” said Dassault Aviation’s John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon. “Thanks to DesignworksUSA’s transportation design expertise and hard work, the new Falcon 7X interior cabin reflects our goal to define a new level of flying experience.”

Airbus A380 Superjumbo Private Flying Palace

Airbus A380 private jetAn unkown buyer from Middle Eastern prince has spend £300 million for a luxurious Airbus A380 private jet, which is being designed by Worcestershire-based firm Design Q. The modified Airbus A380 superjumbo flying palace is the world's largest private jet when completed in three years time.

According to Design Q's co-founder Gary Doy, the belly of the A380 has been turned into a relaxation zone, including a Turkish bath lined with marble only two millimetres thick to keep the weight down.

Mr Doy added: 'It is something very, very special and there is nothing like it on the market yet.
We are not trying to put a hotel in the air, it is tailored to the needs of flying, and has unique features which fit into that. The Turkish bath is particularly spectacular, a steam room with marble, low lights and lots of spa treatments to choose from.'

There is also a unique well-being room that has floors and walls turned into giant screens showing the ground below. Guests can enjoy a unique flying experience by stepping on to the magic carpet as a cool scented breeze blows in the room.

The five suites which form the owner's private quarters have king- size beds, entertainment systems and a prayer room featuring computer generated prayer mats which always face Mecca. A lift shuttles between the plane's three floors, from the private quarters upstairs, down to the concert hall, featuring a baby grand piano and seating for ten, and to the garage below.

Mood lighting eases the stress of jet lag for long-haul passengers and also helps provide a relaxing ambiance. Cabin lighting is carefully controlled by cabin crew at the touch of a screen making it easily adaptable to the requirements of long-haul travel. Windows are also bigger, providing more natural light and a better view outside the aircraft.
