Rolex Launches State of the Art Factory for Luxury Watches in Bienne

The General Management of Rolex has announced the birth of a new plant for the production of luxury watches at Manufacture des Montres Rolex site in Bienne, Switzerland. This project will bring the entire industrial production of Rolex movements under one roof: assembly, machining, press, thermal and surface treatment, maintenance and laboratory activities.

The new Rolex state of the art complex will consist of four floors above ground and three underground levels, for a total volume of 230 thousand cubic meters.The new complex will principally house an impressive automated stock and distribution system that will ensure the entirely robotized transport of components and finished products to the production workshops.

The Rolex plant is scheduled for completion in 2012, will also feature an underground car park, a delivery area, a waste water treatment plant, a large restaurant and several cafeterias.
