New Peugeot 308 MCP Unveiled in Korea

French major car manufacturer, Peugeot (pronounced PəR-zhoh) has officially introduced its latest sedan 'Peugeot 308 MCP' for Korean market only. This modern, high-performance and environmentally-friendly sedan boasts its low fuel consumption of 19.5km/liter, powered by 110 horsepower and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Peugeot 308 MCP is priced at 34,100,000 Won or roughly US$26,017 including VAT.

Koenigsegg Quant Solar Electric Car

Swedish super car manufacturer Koenigsegg has collaborated with Swiss company NLV Solar to start manufacturing their limited Quant concept car. The solar electric vehicle was billed as a “car of the future” designed to showcase NLV Solar’s nifty photovoltaic and accumulator tech. This enables it get enough juice under 20 minutes to power the 512 horse power car for 500km.

Koenigsegg's Quant twin speed can push 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 170mph. The solar electric car features a four-seater with gullwing doors, 3-zone climate control, at least six airbags and all the usual electronic safety gubbins.

Le Mans Electric Racing Car Designed by Thomas Klave for GreenGT

The Swiss manufacturer of environmentally friendly vehicles GreenGT disclosed details of its prototype electric racing car.

According to chief engineer GreenGT, Christopher Schwartz, the studio design GreenGT going to release a prototype sports racing electric to participate in the Le Mans race in 2011, which in future will be a road supercars. The car also will retain its ability to track the race, because the only difference between track and road versions will be in your engine block

GreenGT Le Mans Prototype was created by Thomas Klave, a young French designer of the ISD Valencienne Design School.

The basis of the future car - light and strong carbon chassis that meets the specifications of FIA. Fiberglass is mounted on the chassis of the body, a special racing suspension system, aluminum brake carriage with ventilated steel brake discs and Brembo lightweight OZ wheels of magnesium alloy. Also in the car will have a special electronic control system.

As the propulsion system used a pair of 100-killovatnyh electric motors with water cooling, associated with differential zapatentovanoy GreenGT box. Their energy the car will also draw from flexible photovoltaic solar panels and two lithium-ion battery capacity of 30-killovat.

Code-X Solar Hybrid Yacht

Swiss yacht builder, Code-X has announced its first luxury hybrid yacht to combine solar power and Formula 1 engine technology. The yacht uses the latest generation solar cells or photovoltaics in the form of glass-glass modules that will charge the battery pack in two days. The charge can also be completed in one hour with the main engine.

The 47 foot Code-X catamaran comes with a hybrid engine that can deliver 710hp by twin Ilmor Formula 1 engines to propel the yacht at a speed in excess of 80 knots or a more leisurely 9 knots on open water.

The Code-X yacht is packed with the latest in LED touchscreen control panels, a Kevlar/carbon shell with phototropic-shaded screens and windows and a GPS-controlled “Virtual Anchor” system, which enables the yacht to remain stationary in case of wind speed or currents.

Toyota Launches 2010 Prius Modellista Aero Kits

Toyota introduces its latest Modellista Aero Kits for the 2010 Toyota Prius, only a day after the the official Japanese market launch of the third-generation Prius.

These kits come in three versions: Modellista Versions 1 and 2 and an Aero Tourer Kit.

The manufacturer offers version 1 and 2 of the kits which include front aprons, side skirts and rear aprons. The other part offers the Aero Tourer which includes a new front bumper, a new grille but also a stylish rear apron. All the kits can be completed using the new alloy wheels but also using sport suspension which lowers the car with up to 20 millimeters.

BRUSA's Spyder Electric Sportscar

Swiss electronics company, BRUSA, recently attended the EVS 24 Conference in Stavanger, Norway, with an electric sportscar called the Spyder.

Powered by a couple of 95 kW electric motors – one for each rear wheel – the Spyder is reportedly capable of scooting to 60 miles per hour in under 5 seconds. Power comes from a 16 kWh lithium polymer battery pack from Kokam, which is enough juice to provide for a range of 125 kilometers (77 miles) at 80 kilometers per hour (about 50 miles per hour).

A liquid-cooled charger resides underhood, along with all the rest of the assorted electronic goodies to make it all work, and a full charge reportedly takes four hours when plugged in to a 16-amp, 220-volt outlet.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV Electric Car

Japanese automaker Mitsubishi introduces the all-electric car i-MiEV that could run of about 80 mph and can travel a maximum 100 miles on an all-night powered with its 660 cc turbo battery charged engine. Outfitted with rear-wheel drive and a lithium-ion 330V battery, this Mits is pretty far removed from the ever-popular Eclipse.

One of the most interesting about the Mitsubishi i-MiEV is its ability to charge on a household socket. You can plug the car into your garage outlet and let it charge for up to 11 hours with a 100 V outlet.

Mitsubishi Motors North America President and CEO Shinichi Kurihara confirmed the i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) is being developed for sale in world markets, including the United States.

“Electric vehicles are one branch of the automotive landscape and we are dedicated to providing these technology-sourced solutions as an important path for the world’s clean-air options,” explained Kurihara, who stood alongside a Left Hand Drive i-MiEV during his address to journalists at the New York International Auto Show. “We believe the i-MiEV delivers on the promise of sustainability, suitable range, performance, and innovative packaging and styling.”

The 2010 Mitsubishi i MIEV is expected to go on sale by the end of 2009 for around 2.5 million yen ($24,000), although Japanese government subsidies for zero-emissions cars reduce this price by 50 percent.

Electrolux Wind Washer Dishwasher Designed by Hwang Jin wook

Global leader in home appliances Electrolux has recently revealed the Electrolux Wind Washer Dishwasher concept that involves using UV light to sterilize the dishes. It comprises of a three-step procedure:

1. It uses a stream of high-pressure air to blow away all the leftover food crumbs on the dishes
2. It steams them to degrease the dishes
3. It utilizes UV light to sterilize them

This Eletrolux Wind Dishwasher concept turns the idea of dishwashers on its head. This would save water by using air and UV rays to clean the dishes.

.MGX and Ondelios Renault's Car of the Future Concept

.MGX made significant contributions to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. Through a creative partnership with Arik Levy at the Swarovski Crystal Palace and secondly, and through a collaboration with the car manufacturer Renault.

The Ondelios Renault’s environmentally friendly, high-end cross-over concept car, produced in collaboration with .MGX, at via Tortona 35, as part of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, complimented by a flock of .MGX design objects, including the new Tulip.MGX and Torus.MGX lights and the Wye.MGX table.

The Ondelios was inspired by nature and the way it solves problems with elegance. The .MGX design team and cutting-edge technologies enabled Renault to understand these natural processes in relation to creating structures. This vision can be seen clearly in the car’s ethereal design, interior layout and original hybrid powertrain.

In addition to providing inspiration, .MGX techniques were used to produce a number of specific elements for the car, including the dashboard and roof, which emphasize the vehicle’s airy look and feel and in the case of the latter, bathes the interior in natural light.

Taiyou: Solar Powered Ropeway by Fredrik Hylten

Taiyou Ropeway is a solar-powered cable vehicle concept created by designer Fredrik Hylten which is intended to replace the mountain gondola for transporting between two mountains. Taiyou Ropeway is a self-supporting energy that could be installed in a remote areas where there is no available electrical power supply.

There are two sets of sun-powered pod fitted with safety harnesses, and a sliding floor that opens up the sides overlooking natural views. The two wires system are better than what a ski lift-style gondola might offer, the designers says, because it's more stable in high winds and allows the support towers to be spaced further apart.
