The Russian magnate Roman Abramovich took a step to the Aeolian islands, on board with his $ 120 million Pelorus luxury yacht. The world's fourteenth largest luxury yacht at 377 feet 3 inches (115 metres) in length, was spotted in the bay of the largest island of the Aeolian islands, facing the castle of Lipari.

Roman Abramovich Pelorus luxury yacht was built at the Lürssen yard in Bremen, Germany to the design of Tim Heywood and was launched in 2003. Pelorus luxury yacht has a system for detecting missiles and a mini-submarine. Among its crew numbering 40 people, there are former employees of SAS - British special forces.

Italian sports fashion house Pirelli has come out with luxury raft called "Pirelli PZero 1400" in collaboration between the Swedish Tecnorib OMD and Ocke Mannerfelt Design Team AB - a leader in designing of boats and racing sports.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's new $355 million, 555-ft. mega yacht "Eclipse" has finally made a preliminary launch at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany

Measuring 557.7 feet (or 170 m), Eclipse becomes the world’s largest privately owned yacht, beating the previous record set by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum’s 530 ft M/Y Dubai.

Roman Abramovich's Eclipse will feature 2 heli-pads, 20 water jets, a pool with large Havana bars surrounding, a cinema, library, restaurant, private garden, 5,000-square-feet master suite, a private submarine boarding from the bottom of the yacht for a secret escape, and a missile-detection system to deflect pirate attacks safely. The 9-deck megayacht has at least five possible exits, which literally makes it the safest yacht ever built.

The $350 million mega yacht is still under construction and it will be delivered next year.

Code-X Solar Hybrid Yacht

Swiss yacht builder, Code-X has announced its first luxury hybrid yacht to combine solar power and Formula 1 engine technology. The yacht uses the latest generation solar cells or photovoltaics in the form of glass-glass modules that will charge the battery pack in two days. The charge can also be completed in one hour with the main engine.

The 47 foot Code-X catamaran comes with a hybrid engine that can deliver 710hp by twin Ilmor Formula 1 engines to propel the yacht at a speed in excess of 80 knots or a more leisurely 9 knots on open water.

The Code-X yacht is packed with the latest in LED touchscreen control panels, a Kevlar/carbon shell with phototropic-shaded screens and windows and a GPS-controlled “Virtual Anchor” system, which enables the yacht to remain stationary in case of wind speed or currents.
