Ignorant Bliss : Lingua Barrier

I'm not Hokkien.

So coming from a region that is filled with people speaking this dialect, really makes me ignorant, out-of-sync and bewildered.

Sheeesh, I'd probably come across as 'strange' simply because I wouldn't know how to react appropriately . LMAO.

Today, over dinner, this drinks-girl (20+ , pretty and all) called me

'Yan '

... then went on asking me what I'd like to order.

Heck! I didn't know a word she said... and luckily my friend was there to translate.

Well, I got to order my drinks and got to know that 'Yan' means 'Good-looking/ Handsome'.

Funny.

Flattered. But feeling like a complete idiot. :P

She must be thinking... 'What a strange guy.... so not cool . "
