Party of the Year

ZoukOut , Asia's biggest beach party.

The award winning and internationally acclaimed mega party-of-the-region is where the biggest International Djs spin their records and the hottest people turn up in not-much to booty the night away in sweat and booze.

As it has always been all these years, it returns this December to take party people across the region on a brilliant escape into a rhapsody of music, dancing, art and festivities.

When the moon is up and the mood is high, clothes are optional. Fun is definite.

Be prepared to be moved by the beats and swoon at the beautiful bodies.

The hottest and tightest will be there to flaunt and cajole.

Are you ready? Are you hot enough? ^^

Q ... ZO 2008 , the night's still young.

***************************
Party Review:

Been there. Done that. ^^

So here's my general take on this year's ZO 2008:

1) The size of the crowd grew again once more. Staggering. A new record.
Insane shoving. Excuse touching.

2) The crowd's hotter as ever! Even better dressed. Dressed to kill. Now, it seems the party goers are beginning to realise that less is more.

3) The music stinks. Better in previous years. DJs in economic recession mood?

So, will I be anticipating the next one?

My legs hurt from dancing all night to music that wasn't even that good.

Q...But Hell Yeah.

Gorgeous Winners

Hossan Leong, the male MC, was definitely the spark that kept the night going.

Indeed, the famed stand-up comedian lives up to his name.

Standing and waiting till the feet hurt for over one and half hours is no hoot.

The wait was finally over and the 50 beautiful folks were up and prancing.

And here are the winners. James Lim and Melissa Petros.
(Above)

There were some more deserving ones than others. But that's always the bugging thing when it comes to pageants isnt it?

Anyhow, Dyan (in the earlier post, below) did make it to the Top 10.

And he has amazing Abs!

OMG. It's like how da hell did he get them so hard and chiselled???!

Q... gotta train harder.^^

Most Gorgeous?

Tonight I'll be going to Zouk and just hang . (Since I'm bored to death at home anyway.)

I'd be attending Female Magazine's Annual '50 Most Gorgeous People' party.

Actually , I make it none of my business to bother about such narcisstic streaks.

But I kinda took a look around the webbie since I got curious when I got invited for the parday. (To see if its worth my time.)

And if 'gorgeousness' is based on looks alone, then the above specimen is the hands-down winner.

Of course, I cannot judge 'gorgeousness' by the book's cover.

Since it is after all only one single picture.

Who knows the monster that lurks behind , you know what I mean? LMAO.

I think being gorgeous could be more than just looks if the 50 chosen are anything to go by. (Read : Hideous!)

To me, its a whole package of brains, braun and personality (not to mention a huge dose of self-worth) .
What one is able to bring forth to society, friends and loved ones and work is perhaps the biggest turn-on.

Q... I'm GORGEOUS TOO , you know!!! ^^

ZZZZZouk

Zouk, the supposedly famous club looks like hell during the day sans the crowds, the darkness, the smoke and the lights.

Hideous. LMAO.

The flooring looks worse than the Void Decks.

Done with a Commercial Shoot there today ..... an absolutely pointless one at that.

And all I can remember is the dinky club. And the zzz, oh yes, the Pointless shoot.

Where all the models try their best to out pose, out dance and out strut each other.

PS: That caucasian-esque model stinks. I can't understand why he is the main model.Just because he's whitey.... yucks. C-M-I .
VOMIT.

What next? Dear Tourists.... lemme present to you ... Singapore's Next Top Model?
Zzzzz. ^^

No Phuture ahead

There is light only at the End of the Tunnel. Not along it...
Straight ahead is Zouk. To the right is the Toilet. To the left is Phuture.

"To the LEFT . To the LEFT.... "

When you pay a lot to enter Velvet Underground and Zouk, there is just NO REASON WHY WE WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO PHUTURE.

What a bad experience.

No more.

The END is Near. No more Phuture. Nothing.

ZoukOut 2007 ~ Collectibles ^^

MY jury is still OUT if I'm still IN or OUT for ZoukOUT 2007.

(It's Exactly 2 weeks from now and I'm still out-of-shape! :P)

For the first time ever, mega Club, Zouk, responsible for Asia's Biggest Outdoor Rave-dance Beach party , teamed up with surf brand Rip-Curl, to come up with a few yum-worthy (or not?) collectibles for the party-animals in us.

Check them out:

This is Cool. I love black tees.:) I like the colors and graphics too. Even the logo at the back is Fly. And I have a buddy whom I can so picture wearing this.
Rather 'commercial' though. Will I get one? Prolly.

This is actually very Hi-Fashion ... like some expensive designer tee upfront. But the 'poster-print' at the back, is bleah!!!! Goner.

This beach towel is cool. It's anytime better than the stinking ones we all secretly use:p. But why da hell will I need one?

I luv sandals. And these are Fly. But I also have like a gazillion pairs at home. And certainly, a white, and there4 easily-dirtied pair like this one, is just 1 pair too many. Besides, my Dopies look way cooler. :p

Collectibles. Period.

Cuz now, IF I do go, I'd still end up in a pair of singlet for cool comfort. And not to mention, it's easier to grab the attention of the babes. :Op

The bigger question is, while last year I had a slammin' good time, this year however, am I still up to it?

Is Wild partying still a thing for this Depressive Soul???

Mambo Night .... no longer Jumbo?

Zouk, the club world-renowned for it's year-end Zouk-Out beach party is also hella famous for its weekly mid-week party for 80's Music lovers, Mambo Night .

Yes, crowds dance and gesture senselessly to the most infectious disco-tunes from the era of bad drag queens with an even badder dress sense.

From Madonna , Village People, Bananarama to Kylie and Rick Astley, you prance and bogey to the best camp crowd since Studio 54's.

It's no wonder the club will launch, every once in a while , it's dance complilation of it's most sinful and popular 80's mixes. Just like they had recently. As they term it 'To celebrate the Phenomenon' . Very Believable considering every self-respecting clubber out there would have attended at least a couple of Mambo nights in their clubbing-life time.

The album, hardly high-brow material needless to say, is destined to be on it's way to be a best seller for sure. It, despite containing tracks not far different from every other Retro-compilation album out there. So what if the disclaimer sticker at the front says that it's gonna have a 'live' feel to it being mixed directly from Vinyl by the house DJs?

Screechy-scratchy sounds at the interlude of each track sure is interesting...

See how branding counts here?

It's good of course, if you just want to have a wild time reminicising the great times you've had at the club on Wednesday nights but have grown too old (or fat) to be seen grinding away like a pre-pubescent teenager of the neon-era.

But here begs the question, as we are almost through the first decade of the new Millenium, surely we're growing further and further away from that period where big hair and pants worn up to the armpits was acceptable?

Has the generations moved on? Has the clubbing crowd moved on?

Can Zouk continue to rely on its 'Phenomenon' to keep it hip, relevant and relatable to the 'in' crowd who is getting younger every year?

Can a hyped up CD launch cause more than a blip on the night scene it used to stir?

Surely we are all beginning to think ( and feel from the hips) that current club infused-R&b/hip-hop we 're getting these days is fast becoming this new generation's new pop & grind?

We're almost 2 full decades away from the 80's. Does Zouk's Mambo Night still Jumbo?

Or will it just become another fancy-themed party event in the sea of new mega clubs sprouting up all over the city?

Hmm. A good pal of mine just invited me to Mambo Night tonight. And I'm too tired and too lazy to club but am blogging here.

So, what does it say?
