Total Freak Show

Michael Jackson was 'severely emaciated' when he died.

The pop legend weighed just 51kg when he passed away last week after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.

Leaked autopsy details reportedly show the singer was a 'virtual skeleton', whose stomach was empty except for partially-dissolved prescription pills.

It is understood he ate just one tiny meal a day.

His hips, thighs and shoulders were covered in needle marks, believed to be the result of narcotic painkillers the singer took three times a day.

There were also four injection sites near his heart - evidence of a failed bid to pump adrenaline directly into the organ in an attempt to restart it.

Medical examiners were also believed to be shocked by the surgery scars, which suggest Michael had at least 13 cosmetic procedures.

The bridge of his nose had vanished and its right side had collapsed.

He was reportedly wearing a wig at the time of his death. Underneath it, he was almost bald, with only 'peach fuzz' covering his scalp.

He had several broken ribs and extensive bruising to his chest consistent with someone trying to revive him.

The singer also had unexplained bruises on his knees and the front of both shins and cuts and grazes on his back.

A source said: 'Michael's family and fans will be horrified when they realise the appalling state he was in. He was skin and bone, his hair had fallen out and had been eating nothing but pills when he died.

'Injection marks all over his body and the disfigurement caused by years of plastic surgery show he'd been in terminal decline for years.'

A second autopsy was carried out on Saturday (27.06.09) after the Jackson family was dissatisfied by the first one, which ruled out 'foul play' but could not determine a cause of death.

Michael's funeral will reportedly be held on Wednesday (01.07.09).

His brother Tito said the family spent the weekend organising the send-off.

They have yet to decide whether it will be a public or private funeral.

Rare Species of Discus fish Discovered

The Discus is a family of revered ornamental fish found predominantly in the Amazon River basin.

Distinguished by their laterally compressed body shape which only serves to exaggerate even further , their distinct wide shape (it is this body shape from which their common name, “discus”, is derived) and generous display of its striking coloration, they are at once strange and unwieldy but also very beautiful; like moving mood boards of art.

Being peaceful and shy creatures only make these fishes harder to come by.

Of all the discus species, this here is by far the rarest of them all.

And needless to say, the most sought-after.

The Luvdisc.

Striking in its pastel to fushsia pink coloration and heart-shaped body, it is easy to see how its name came about.

A surprisingly big fish at 2-feet wide from dorsal to ventral fin (making it possibly the biggest of the discus family) , this is a swift swimmer that can dart quickly to safety and avoidance or to scare off intruders wandering into its territory.

For decades since its existence was confirmed (prior to which it was but a hear-say myth of the jungle villagers ) this immensely reclusive species has managed to escape most human contact, hiding in the deep marshes of the great Amazon.

So rare, that mostly unsubstantiated eye-witness accounts ever really hinted at its existence.

Otherwise, the most concrete evidences, if they ever were considered to be, were only the following:

>A rough sketch by an observant eye-witness.

> An artist's impression of the fish in its natural habitat, based on accounts.

> A scientific drawing of this species.

> A scientific model based on scrap remains found.

>>>However, finally and recently , exactly the day before the day after, man's increasingly habitual wield of the digi-cam every where he goes, paid off, and a lucky explorer observed for a few brief minutes , before seeing it dart off into the murks once more, took the first and only ever photograph of the elusive Luvdisc.

How a fish so big and impossibly striking ,and yet almost impossible to come by, is a testiment of its immense elusiveness.

At the height of its mysterious existence, it's reputation even reached mythology with tribe men hinting that should a couple ever get to see one, they will be blessed with eternal love.

Sweet isn't it? Almost like spotting Nature's Cupid.

Or it was just to motivate some love-lorn couples to really search for this joke of a fish.

Bed Room Politics

A prominent Malaysian opposition politician tearfully offered her resignation Tuesday after photos of her in the nude were circulated to the media.

Elizabeth Wong, one of Malaysia's top human rights activists, blamed government "gutter politics" for the release of the images, which reportedly show her sleeping in her bedroom.

Newspaper reports have speculated that the images may have been taken by a former boyfriend.

"I wish to state that I am not ashamed of my sexuality as a woman and a single person. I have broken no laws. I stand by the fundamental principle in a democracy that everyone has a right to privacy,"
she told a press conference.

The photographs, which are circulating via mobile phone but have not yet been published in the media, have caused a political storm in Malaysia, which is a conservative and predominantly Muslim country.

"She is a single person. How can she allow a man into her room when they are not married? What's the status of the relationship,"
said Mohamad Khir Toyo, the former Barisan Nasional chief minister of Selangor.

Keadilan officials said on condition of anonymity that the party feared other more compromising pictures may emerge unless Wong stands down. ~MSN news

The Diva is a Female version of a Hustler

A stunning-looking and strong-sounding Whitney Houston made a triumphant return to the stage at a pre-Grammy party honoring her mentor, music mogul Clive Davis.

"I've got it, I've got it!" Houston, looking glamorous in a skintight leopard dress, sang early Sunday morning as she belted a line from one of her classic hits, "I'm Every Woman." But more than a lyric, it summarized to the crowd of A-list superstars and top industry execs that the superstar _ whose drug use and erratic behavior had caused a shocking fall from grace just a few years ago _ was back in top form.

A smiling Houston performed Jennifer Hudson's hit "Spotlight," which earned her one of her four Grammy nominations, and got a standing ovation from the crowd.

But she raised the bar with a pairing with Barry Manilow, injecting one of his signature songs, "Weekend in New England," with a lacking ingredient _ soul.

Afterward, the Oscar-winner joined the audience (and friend Fantasia), stood in the front and danced and sang as Houston performed. Houston started off with "I Will Always Love You," but didn't hit the high, sustaining notes that made the song such a dramatic, stirring hit. Instead, she kept her voice at medium power, deciding to croon rather than soar.

But as she got into hits like "It's Not Right, But It's O.K.," her voice appeared to get stronger _ and louder, and while she never replicated the vocal gymnastics of some of her past work, delivered a mesmerizing performance nonetheless.

The 45-year-old, one of the best-selling artists of all time and among the greatest singers, hasn't made an album since 2002. Then she was was sinking due to drug use and a tumultuous personal life _ a far cry from the princess image she cultivated since her debut in the 1980s.

But the singer is expected to release an album sometime this year, and unlike other reported returns, this comeback seems to be the real deal.

"She was on it, she was happy _ she's back,"
said Foxx. "Everybody else watch out."

An image sealed in the annals of history.

The new president wore a red tie and white shirt with his new tuxedo made by Hart Schaffner Marx, a unionized factory in Chicago. This was topped with an overcoat adorned with an American flag pin.

Michelle Obama wore a sparkling yellow-gold sheath dress with matching coat by Cuban-born American designer Isabel Toledo. She paired the ensemble with green gloves from J. Crew and green shoes.

The world witnessed in high emotion , the first ever colored American President take his oath with the bible.

Most significant parts of his historical inauguration speech:

" .... know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more."

" To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and respect. To those leaders around the globe who seem to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West- know that your people will judge you on what you can build , not what you destroy."

Beyond well said. Beyond well thought and rehearsed.

Billions worship the ground he walks on.

They look up to him for hope of a better future. One rid of economic uncertainties, free of terrorism and war.

A new world. A better world.

Maybe.

Obama represents hope and change.

Hope he certainly gives. Change, we all hope.

Now that he is the 44th Elected president of the USA, we will all wait in batted breath.

" Remake America, " he says.

"Please remake the World," we say.
