The Prada Marfa, Texas, perhaps is one of the loneliest store in the world! Because this is one fashion paradox architectural conceptual symbolism; a store in plain desert store under the proud flag of Prada.
Located along an isolated stretch of U.S. Highway 90, the 15 by 25-foot adobe and stucco building was partially funded by the Prada Foundation.
The Prada store was built in 2005, near the West Texas towns of Valentine and Marfa, a pair of Scandinavian artists, Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset, unveiled Prada Marfa, a sculpture masquerading as a Prada mini-boutique.
The bags and shoes line up untouched since 2005 in which store money has never been handed and people were very rare to see. There is no entrance to the store, the front door is inoperable. There are video cameras in the store and outside to discourage vandals.
