A 'U' Shaped 3-Storey Luxury Property in London, by Belsize Architects

London luxury property at Sheldon AvenueAn architect firm based in London, Belsize Architects completed the luxurious property situated along Sheldon Avenue, specifically within the Heath Fringes Conservation Area in Highgate, London.

The concept is a 3-storey 'cascading' atrium with a “U” shape, centered around a glazed. This allows ample daylight in the heart of the house. Belsize Architects designed a series of cells arranged around a chapter house: the cells provide accommodation for retreat, contemplation, rest and sleep within small but comfortable spaces. The large atrium space is the ‘chapter house’: its circulation areas are places of encounter, and its lower levels are for gathering, eating and socializing.

Electronic House 2009 Home of the Year

Hollywood 2009 Home of the YearThis Hollywood blend of drama, design and innovation--including 7.1 CinemaScope theater, pop-up televisions, and multiple surround-sound areas--proclaimed by Electronic House's for Best Home of the Year 2009.

The 7,000 square foot spread located in the Hollywood Hills with amenities that tech geeks are quite familiar with. “CinemaScope theater, 7.1-channel surround-sound, intricate TV concealment, extensive automation—but we don’t often see them shine together in such a spectacular location, with equally stunning results. This home can’t settle for anything less than red-carpet treatment.” Though billed as “the ultimate bachelor pad” the house actually belongs to a young couple.

Master Suite Control. A Crestron TPMC-8X Wi-Fi touchpanel provides wireless access and controls over the home’s A/V, automation, lighting, climate and security systems. There are five of them, including this one in the master suite.

Theater. A CinemaScope super-wide screen, rockin’ JBL Synthesis surround-sound system and furnishings with a bit more sex appeal than your typical theater chairs and carpeting. The screen measures 125 diagonal inches at its full 2.35:1 aspect ratio viewing, which receives images from a Runco VX-2000D CineWide projector. The front channels and subwoofers in the JBL system are recessed in the cabinetry.

The World's Most Expensive Kennel Complete With Spa and Plasma TV

They must have taken out a mortgage at Barklays.

How else could a pair of Great Danes get their paws on this £250,000 kennel?

The bespoke doghouse is being built on an exclusive estate near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.

Inside, the dogs will sleep on sheepskin-lined, temperature-controlled beds, soothe their aches in an 18in-deep spa, howl along to a £150,000 sound system and watch dog-friendly programmes on a 52-inch plasma TV.

Automatic dispensers will ensure that chilled, filtered water and deluxe dry food are always available.

The two dogs will each have a bedroom with large windows which overlook their own private playground. 'Dog-vision' webcams allow their owner to monitor their activity 24 hours a day, while climate control ensures they are kept warm.

There will be a sophisticated retina scanner installed at the front door to stop any other dogs getting in - something the Great Danes may view as a bit of a party pooper.

Plans for the kennel, and for an adjoining house for the dogs' mistress, have been approved and building work is to begin at the Lower Mill Estate in the spring.

The owner of the estate said the house and kennel were designed to the specifications of a female surgeon who wishes to remain anonymous.

Jeremy Paxton said: 'Most houses are built with human specifics in mind and animals fit in around that - but this is the other way round.

'It's a very interesting house with fabulous architecture and unusual requirements.

'There's even a spa bath with a saline treatment built in because it's good for their coats.'
