Davidoff's Most Expensive Cigarette Case in the World by Stephen Webster
Stephen Webster is one of the most celebrated jewellers worldwide. Among Webster’s clients are Madonna, Sharon Stone, Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera or Elton John, Johnny Depp and Jay-Z.
Webster has won four-times UK’s ‘Luxury Jeweller of the Year’ prize and is the responsible of various trends like the revival of colored gemstones and fine jewelers’ back into the fashion zeitgeist, apart from being a key player in attitudes to jewelery.
Davidoff couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate designer for this very special diamond edition that happens to be the most expensive cigarette case in the world, worth of more than €16,000.
Although a lot of times the trend in manufacturing the most valuable version of one kind of a product has led to true aesthetic disasters, this is not the case. Webster’s version happens to be minimal and sleek, a sophisticated take on luxury.
“Things have changed,” Webster says. “The fear factor, the reverence and the rather staid formality have all but disappeared. Magazines now have fashion shoots featuring cheap H&M jeans worn with £5000 diamond rings. Having a diamond-studded accent to a watch or a piece of jewellers’ no longer marks a customer as a flashy, ostentatious type. It just makes a person look more… lively.
