An anonymous buyer paid nearly $150,000 for a collection of photographs of superstar, Marilyn Monroe auctioned in New York. The photographs were taken for Vogue magazine the year before she died in 1962.
A spokeswoman for Christie’s auction house says that the photos were the last professional photographs taken of the actress before she died. Pre-sale estimate was said to be $100,000 to $150,000. Christie added, "Tuesday, four Helmut Newton photographs, titled "They're Coming, Paris (Naked and Dressed)," sold for $662,500.
